Web design for Sydney businesses.

Sydney is the most crowded local search market in the country. I build fast, clear Wix websites that help Sydney small businesses stand out, get found by the right suburb and turn visitors into calls. I work with you online from my Melbourne studio.

01

Sydney search is crowded, so detail wins

Greater Sydney runs from Penrith to Manly and from Hornsby to Sutherland, and people search for what’s close to them. “Electrician Parramatta”, “physio Chatswood” and “café Newtown” are different markets with different competitors, even though they all sit under the one city name.

That means a vague “Sydney web design” style homepage rarely does the job. I help you decide which parts of Sydney you genuinely serve, write those places into your pages and your Google Business Profile in plain language, and avoid the thin, copy-paste suburb pages that Google tends to ignore.

02

What Sydney small businesses tend to need from a website

Tradies across Western Sydney, the Sutherland Shire and the Hills District mostly need to be easy to call and easy to quote. That means a big tap-to-call button, a short quote form, the suburbs covered and real photos of finished work.

Clinics on the North Shore and in the Inner West need clear service pages, practitioner details and a booking path that works on a phone. Hospitality in Newtown, Surry Hills and Manly needs a current menu, opening hours and events that aren’t buried in a PDF. Professional services in the CBD, Parramatta and Chatswood need to look credible within a few seconds and make the next step obvious.

A lot of Sydney browsing happens on a phone, on a train or a ferry, with patchy reception. So I keep pages light, images properly sized and the important information near the top.

03

How I work with Sydney clients from Melbourne

Melbourne and Sydney share a time zone all year, because both observe daylight saving, so scheduling is easy. We start with a free 15-minute phone or video call, then I send a scope and a fixed quote. From there it’s a shared preview link, WhatsApp or email for feedback, and calls at times that suit you, whether that’s before you open, at lunch or after close.

Nothing about building a website requires me to be in the room. If a face-to-face meeting would genuinely help a particular project, we can talk about it, but most of this work is simply done well online.

04

Getting found in Sydney without wasting effort

For a service business, your Google Business Profile often matters as much as your website. If you travel to customers, you can set a service area rather than showing a shopfront. If customers visit you, your category, hours, photos and reviews all carry weight.

On the website side, I focus on the basics that make a difference: clear titles and descriptions, one page per main service, fast mobile loading, a visible phone number and a form that’s short enough to finish. Nobody can honestly guarantee page one in a market as competitive as Sydney, but these are the foundations everything else builds on.

05

Local freelancer or big Sydney agency?

A Sydney agency can bring a team and a process, and for a large project that can be the right call. For a small business, the usual trade-off is that you rarely speak to the person doing the work and the timeline stretches. With me you get one person from the first call to launch, direct answers and a fixed quote.

If your project needs several specialists at once, such as video production or a custom booking system, I’ll say so early and tell you what I’d bring in. I’d rather be honest about fit than take on something I can’t do well.

Questions

Sydney questions.

Do you work with Sydney businesses even though you’re in Melbourne?

Yes. I’m based in Essendon and take work Australia-wide. Everything runs by phone, video, WhatsApp and a shared preview link, and Sydney shares my time zone all year.

Will my Sydney website rank for my suburb?

Nobody can guarantee rankings, especially in a market as busy as Sydney. What I can do is set up the foundations properly: clear page titles, service pages, suburb mentions where they’re true, fast mobile speed and a matching Google Business Profile.

Do I need a separate page for every Sydney suburb?

Usually not. Separate suburb pages only help when you really work in that area and have something genuinely different to say there. Otherwise they look like copies of each other and don’t help you.

Can I edit the website myself after launch?

Yes. Wix makes text, photo and product changes simple, and I’ll show you how. If you’d rather not touch it, a care plan means I handle updates for you.

What if I need a redesign rather than a new site?

That’s common. I review your current site, keep what works, rebuild the rest on Wix and set up redirects so your existing Google visibility comes with you.
